MANILA: The Ford Everest has dominated the country’s 4x4 midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment, while the Mustang has blown the competition out of the water in the Philippine sports car category.

Toughest there is
Based on CAMPI’s records, the Ford Everest Titanium+ 4x4 was the number 1 best-selling midsize SUV in 2025, beating other 4x4 models from top brands.
As such, the data showed that the nameplate captured a significant 40-percent share of the segment.
Its success for the past year can be attributed to its adventure-ready capability with comfort and customer-focused technology, all wrapped in a rugged, refined, and fun-to-drive package.
Photo from Jirehl Kent FloresKey to the performance of the Ford Everest is its 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with an electronic shifter. The setup generates roughly 208 horsepower (hp) and 500 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
It also boasts a 4x4 terrain management system with six selectable drive modes, namely Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, and Sand.
Ford’s SUV also comes loaded with new and enhanced driver assist technologies and safety features that are designed to take the stress out of driving and help drivers remain focused. These include seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, lane keeping system, forward collision warning, evasive steer assist, and reverse brake assist.
It also packs a 12-inch multi-touch infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity.
The Ford Everest Titanium+ 4x4 is priced at P2.59 million.
Nothing stings like a ‘Stang
Doing the same thing in the sports car segment, the Ford Mustang revealed itself — according to CAMPI data — to be the number one nameplate in the division.
Launched in 2024, the seventh-generation performance-oriented car represents freedom, passion, and the thrill of the open road.
It is offered in two variants, with one packing a 2.3-liter engine (approx. 317 hp, 475 Nm) and the other with a whopping 5.0-liter V8 powerplant (around 491 hp, 567 Nm).

Other notable features include four-wheel power disc brakes, six selectable drive modes (Normal, Sport, Slippery, Track, Drag Strip, and Custom), active exhaust valves, Recaro leather-trimmed sports seats, a 12-inch instrument cluster, and a 13-inch infotainment system.
They are priced at P3.506 million and P4.006 million, respectively.
