All-new Audi RS5 launched in the Philippines

MANILA: Audi PH launches yet another performance car, the all-new RS5 which comes with manly looks and packs a powerful unit under the bonnet. The exclusive launch event took place in Butamaru Ramen in Ortigas where the official distributor of Audi, PGA Cars, handled the proceedings.

The new Audi coupe is a powerful machine with an underlying sporty character. Benedicto Coyiuto, the head of Auto Philippines said, “The Audi RS 5 Coupé is a car that exudes character from its progressive design to its sporty interior,”. “Not only does the new RS 5 define perfection in design, comfort and safety, it also delivers sophisticated performance one can only expect from Audi", he added.

At heart, the Audi RS5 is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine that churns out a max power of 450PS and a peak torque of 600Nm. The numbers are staggering for sure. It comes with the quattro all-wheel drive system that’s responsible for transferring power to the wheels in the most intelligent manner possible. The performance of the car is blistering, thanks to the efforts done by Audi’s backend team to tune components in just the right way.

The exteriors of the car are stunning, it carries the standard A5 design language featuring trademark hexagonal grille and LED headlamps up front along with bigger air dams on the bumper. The details at the front, the RS badge and the Quattro label are more pronounced than before. Additionally, it gets bigger wheels that are shod with wider tyres, a sporty body kit, RS exhaust outlets and a rear lip spoiler.

Inside, the plush feel is prominent, thanks to the black upholstery with contrast red stitching. The D-cut steering wheel along with a wraparound dashboard makes it up for a driver-friendly look. The Alcantara RS seats are bolstered for a better driving experience.   

Feature-wise, it is a complete machine. It gets the RS virtual cockpit gauges, three-zone climate control, the MMI infotainment system and the Bang & Olufsen audio system. Safety is taken care of by standard features like X airbags, stability control, and traction control. The Pre-Sense safety suite is the latest inclusion that anticipates a crash and let other features prepare accordingly.
