GLX
The base variant of the Mitsubishi Destinator is the GLX trim, offering some decent-enough features for those willing to sacrifice some comfort in exchange for a lower cost.
While it packs LED headlamps, it lacks automatic features that autonomously switch the lights on or off, depending on how dim the environment is. It also does not have fog lights or daytime running lights (DRL).
Other niceties buyers of the entry-level variant will be missing include a pair of roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, and a power tailgate.

In essence, buyers will still get to enjoy its small SUV body with the below measurements:
|
Overall length, width, height (in millimeters [mm>) |
4,680 x 1,840 x 1,780 |
|
Wheelbase (in mm) |
2,815 |
|
Ground clearance (in mm) |
214 |
Of the three variants, the Mitsubishi Destinator is the lightest — weighing at just 1,540 kilograms (kg). It could be the absence of other features, but the lack thereof makes it lose some kgs.
Inside, the Mitsubishi Destinator GLX also gets the basics like manual seats with black fabric upholstery and cabin trims with made with hard plastics.
When it comes to onboard technology, would-be owners can expect to get a 4.2-inch thin-film transistor instrument panel with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected to four speakers.
For climate control, it gets a manual air conditioning system.
Power comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable transmission system. Across the board, the nameplate puts out the following figures:
|
Maximum power (in horsepower) |
160 |
|
Maximum torque (in Newton-meters) |
250 |
Stopping power comes from disc brakes all around, while its suspension system is comprised of a MacPherson strut at the fore and a torsion beam arrangement at the rear.
When it comes to safety, the base model offers the listed technologies:
- Airbags
- Seatbelts
- Rear camera
- Active stability control
- Active yaw control
- Hill start assist
GLS
As for the middle-spec variant, buyers can expect to get some additional exterior upgrades like LED fog lamps and LED DRLs.
The interior still sports basic furniture but gets elevated tech, in the form of an eight-inch LCD instrument panel paired with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit now with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

While the powertrain is retained, it now has several drive modes, namely Normal, Wet, Gravel, Tarmac, and Mud.
As for its safety, some of the Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing (MMSS) suite of safety features have trickled down in the mid variant, endowing it with advanced driver assist features like a blind spot warning system and rear cross traffic alert. Further, owners can enjoy a 360-degree view of the car via the around view monitor.
Cruise control is also standard for the variant.
GT
The GT grade is the range-topping model for the Mitsubishi Destinator, so those making a purchase can expect it to get all the bells and whistles.
Building on the features of the mid-spec variant, the top-tier model also packs automatic headlights, a panoramic sunroof, and roof rails. For added convenience, the tailgate is now electronic with hands-free functionality, so loading up groceries and other items will be easy even if owners have both hands full.
The cabin retains the two large screens on the dashboard, but now comes with several creature comforts such as an eight-speaker sound system from Yamaha and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with upholstery for all seating in the form of synthetic leather (Heat Guard) in a two-tone fashion (Black, Maroon), as well as ambient lighting.
