Toyota Raize

One strong rival of the Suzuki Fronx is the Toyota Raize. Currently, it has a price ranging from P757,000-P1.074 million. 

The top-spec variant of the Toyota Raize is the 1.0 Turbo trim. Per its name, it uses a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). At maximum, this variant can generate up to 96 hp and 140 Nm of torque. 

Like its Suzuki rival, the Toyota Raize comes with a MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension system. It also uses a front disc and rear drum brakes for stopping power. 

To note, lower-spec versions of the Raize, such as the G and E, use a naturally-aspirated 1.2-liter engine that can produce up to 86 hp and 113 Nm of torque. The most affordable Raize variant also comes with a five-speed manual transmission. 

Style-wise, the Toyota Raize is one of the boxier subcompact crossovers in the market right now. It gets a squared-off front fascia similar to the one on the Toyota Avanza, combined with a stance mimicking the posture of a sport utility vehicle (SUV). 

Size-wise, the Toyota-produced nameplate is 4,030 mm long, 1,710 mm wide, and 1,605 mm in height. Its wheelbase spans 2,252 mm, and it has a ground clearance of 200 mm. Fitted to its exterior are features, such as LED lights, power fold/adjust side mirrors, and a set of 17-inch wheels.

One of the more affordable alternatives to the Suzuki Fronx is the Hyundai Venue, which re-entered the local market in October 2025. As of this writing, the said crossover retails at P798,000 for the entry-level GL MT, P898,000 for the mid-spec GL AT, and P998,000 for the top-spec GLS AT. 

Propelling all trims of the Hyundai Venue is a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that can put out 121 hp and 150 Nm of torque. For the GL AT and GLS AT, both use a six-speed automatic transmission sending power to the vehicle’s front wheels. 

Providing stability and ride quality for the Hyundai Venue is a front MacPherson strut and a torsion beam rear end. Stopping power, meanwhile, is provided by four disc brakes for all four wheels. 

Where styling is concerned, the Hyundai Venue goes for a straightforward crossover silhouette with the same modern design cues. It also has a length of 4,040 mm, a width of 1,770 mm, and a height of 1,565 mm. Its wheelbase spans 2,520 mm, while its ground clearance clocks in at 170 mm.

Next up on this list is the JAC JS2 Pro, which is priced at P894,000 in the Philippine market. 

Under the hood of the JAC JS2 Pro is a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine capable of outputting 103 hp and 137 Nm of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels via a CVT.

For its suspension systems, the model uses a MacPherson strut for the front and a torsion beam for the rear. It also has front and rear disc brakes

The exterior of the JAC JS2 Pro goes for the tried and true, high-riding stance of a typical crossover equipped with a decent-sized mesh grille and a pair of sharp-looking headlamps. 

Notable exterior amenities available to the JAC nameplate include 16-inch wheels, halogen headlamps, LED taillights, automatic headlamp functionality, power-adjust side mirrors, and roof rails.
