What we know so far about the Mitsubishi Destinator: 6 available colors

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is set to release the Destinator — a crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) that looks to slot in between the XForce and Montero Sport. 

A quick peek at the brand’s website shows that the forthcoming model will come in six colors that make the highly anticipated vehicle look dynamic and cater to the needs of different car buyers. 

On that note, here are the colors of the upcoming Mitsubishi Destinator: 

Monotone finishes 

Graphite Gray Metallic 

The author has a certain bias towards the gray color, and I must admit, the gray paintwork on the Mitsubishi Destinator gives it a classy and sleek appeal, with the finish leaning more towards black. 

Further, the metallic sheen of the paint works well in highlighting the sculpted angles found all around the body of the crossover SUV. 

As an added bonus, gray is a color known to be good at hiding dust and dirt, as well as masking light scratches. So you can get away with having a handsome-looking vehicle even with less frequent visits to the detailer. 

Jet Black Mica 

Black is a color that is both elegant and sporty, a look that befits the Mitsubishi Destinator. 

Per the company’s literature, the model will be fitted with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine. Despite the actual power figures still kept under wraps, the said web page dedicated to promoting its powertrain says that it uses the brand’s Mivec technology for a dynamic drive with an eye for performance and fuel efficiency. 

Blade Silver Metallic 

Silver is a color often connected with technology. And our visit to MMPC’s website confirms that the Mitsubishi Destinator will have an eight-inch digital instrument cluster akin to the likes of the Xpander and Xpander Cross. It will also sport a 12.3-inch monolithic infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

Other notable modern amenities include a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charger, and a Yamaha-branded sound system. 

Red Metallic 

Red is a color that evokes passion, and the Mitsubishi Destinator is a vehicle that allows drivers to enjoy different feelings when driving. 

This can be done by its multiple drive modes, which include Normal, Wet, Gravel, Tarmac, and Mud. 

As one would expect, Normal is best suited for daily drives, while Wet is great for going over wet pavements and large puddles. As for Gravel, the mode trailers the car’s performance for dry, unpaved roads. 

On the other hand, Mud will be great for muddy unpaved thoroughfares. And Tarmac — that’s for a more spirited drive.

Dual-tone options 

Quartz White Pearl with Black Roof 

White is a color that relates to safety, and the Mitsubishi Destinator in this finish looks much like a safe car. 

It can also be assumed that because of the presence of the achromatic paint, it appears more friendly than those with brighter and sharper hues. 

At the time of writing, the safety features we can see on the brand’s website are the below:

• Forward collision mitigation
• Rear cross traffic alert
• Blind spot warning 
• Auto high beam 
• 360-degree-view camera 
• Active yaw control 

Lunar Blue Mica with Black Roof 

Blue often represents modernity, and one of the features that best echoes the color is the Mitsubishi Connect, which is available with the Destinator. 

According to MMPC, the Mitsubishi Connect is an advanced telematics service by the brand designed to enhance the driving experience by enabling owners to remotely access and manage their vehicle. 

“Mitsubishi Connect is a platform of services that provide vehicle owners with a safe, secure, and convenient driving experience. Mitsubishi Connect is provided through a simple, subscription-based service…” MMPC wrote on their website. 

Release date

The Mitsubishi Destinator is set to make its official debut on November 20.
