Aston Martin Valen is the world’s most powerful front-engined vehicle

MANILA: Aston Martin has unveiled the Valen, the most powerful front-engined V12 supercar in the company’s 113-year history.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the performance figures and engine specs for the Aston Martin Valen?

The Aston Martin Valen is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 838 horsepower (850 PS) and 1,000 Newton-meters of torque.
  • How limited is the Aston Martin Valen, and when will customer deliveries begin?

The Aston Martin Valen is strictly limited to 150 units worldwide. The first batch of customer deliveries is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2027.
  • Claimed to be the world’s most powerful front-engined production model, the newly revealed model is the latest addition to the marque’s line of limited-production, twelve-cylinder specials.

Serving as the latest bespoke offering from Q by Aston Martin, the Valen was developed under Aston Martin’s newly formed Special Vehicle Operations Department.

“The latest in a bloodline of limited-production special-series models from our bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin, Valen’s world-beating performance required a design that captures the raw motion and unmatched output of our V12 powertrain. With more power, less weight, and a spectacular soundtrack, the dramatic design is backed up by equally dramatic performance,” Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Adrian Hallmark was quoted as saying.

In a statement, the Gaydon-headquartered marque said that the Valen “explores provocative design themes and extremes of performance in pursuit of maximum visual impact and a truly distinctive driving experience.”

Here are some of the model’s notable features.

    Vehicle specifications

The model’s name was coined from the Latin word “valens,” meaning “strong” or “powerful.”

Powering the vehicle is a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine that can deliver:

    Maximum power (in horsepower)

    838

    Peak torque (in Newton-meters)

    1,000

The mill is mated to an eight-speed ZF transmission, which uses race-proven shift strategies developed for Aston Martin’s Vantage GT4 race program. This combination allows the Aston Martin Valen to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in approximately three seconds, with the top speed electronically limited to around 344 kph.

It also comes with three drive modes—Sport, Sport+, and Track—that deliver supercar levels of performance and dynamics. For spirited road driving in Sport and Sport+ modes, the throttle pedal uses a shorter map to deliver more throttle earlier in its travel, while Track mode trades that urgency for a longer and more progressive delivery when on-limit precision is the priority.

Its full-carbon-fiber body, as well as the use of aluminum, titanium, and magnesium, helps reduce the vehicle’s overall weight by as much as 110 kilograms (kg).

Furthermore, an optional lightweight pack featuring machined-from-solid aluminum suspension arms, knuckles, and titanium chassis bolts makes it 16.9 kg lighter.

The vehicle is fitted with new lightweight magnesium wheels as standard, developed specifically for the Valen to ensure an optimal balance between everyday usability and dynamic track capability.

These are shod with Aston Martin-tuned Pirelli P Zero R tires (275/35 ZR21 front, 325/30 ZR21 rear) or P Zero Winter 2 tires (275/35 R21 front, 325/30 R21 rear), which adopt the latest Cyber Tire technology, sharing real-time data with the vehicle’s dynamic control systems.

Developed in conjunction with Bosch Engineering, the system is fully integrated into the car’s digital architecture, allowing the electronic stability program, anti-lock braking, and traction control systems to continuously adapt their thresholds.

Aston Martin also focused on front and rear lateral stiffness, cutting down roll and pitch motions in response to driver inputs to improve agility while maintaining a playful handling balance for maximum enjoyment.

The Aston Martin also has a solid-mounted rear subframe, together with model-specific springs, helper springs, and Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers that work well with the calibrated steering.

Stopping power comes from carbon-ceramic brakes (with brake boosters) that measure:

    Ceramic brake location

    Size (in millimeters)

    Front

    410

    Rear

    360

Its quad-exhaust system comes with a lightweight titanium exhaust system equipped with micro-mufflers that ensures compliance with homologation regulations while saving weight and enhancing sound quality.

Outside, the Aston Martin Valen boasts deeply lowered, slimline headlamp units hooded underneath the sharp bonnet line, a geometric mesh grille, and an angled front splitter.

It also features the following design elements:

    • Bonnet with single top vent and perforations at the trailing edge
    • Sharp side strakes with functional ducts
    • Enlarged rear haunches
    • Stepped sill
    • Chunky front and rear fenders
    • Saw-tooth vortex generators on the trailing edge of the sills
    • Aerodynamic rear wing in the upper section
    • Bespoke full-width light bar
    • Large upswept tail
    • Perforated rear panel
    • Two high-set tailpipes mounted atop the rising rear diffuser

Moreover, the Aston Martin Valen can carry 170 liters in its trunk, which is available with an optional bespoke luggage set.

The model wears a Satin Andromeda Red finish specially made by Q by Aston Martin.

Owners are welcomed into the cabin with a combination of Semi-Aniline Leather and Alcantara or full Semi-Aniline Leather, before choosing from five material splits (Monotone, Duotone, Light Duotone, Tritone, and Driver Focused).

The model can also be had with Sports Plus seats (designed to combine support with long-distance comfort) or lightweight carbon-fiber performance seats (for a more focused driving experience).

It also has a slim center console enabled by advanced 3D-printed components and incorporating the performance-focused switch pack first seen on the Valhalla. Angled toward the driver, the inclined console creates a more focused and controlled cockpit environment, reinforcing the connection between driver and machine.

Additionally, 3D-printed elements are used throughout the cabin, a feature first incorporated in the Valkyrie and DBS Zagato.

This model is limited to 150 examples, with the first batch of deliveries set for the second quarter of 2027.
