Audi PH unboxes new hybrid models

MANILA: Audi Philippines has rolled out five hybrid models, effectively expanding its stable to cater to the shifting needs of upmarket car buyers in the country.

Held at the Audi Global City Showroom, the nameplates that were added to the lineup are the SQ5 Sportback, S5 Sedan, Q5 Premium and S Line, and Q3 Premium.

Here are their notable features:

Audi SQ5 Sportback

Under the bonnet, the Audi SQ5 Sportback packs a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 gasoline engine with mild-hybrid technology. Mated to a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission, coupled with the Quattro all-wheel drive (with ultra technology) and adaptive S air suspension, it does about 391 horsepower (hp) and 550 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. 

Speed peaks at 250 kilometers per hour (kph).

Other appointments include Audi rings in anthracite grey, S line bumpers, black roof rails and roof edge spoiler, a panoramic sunroof, and a set of 21-inch cast aluminum Audi Sport wheels.

Inside, it gets a three-spoke leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, seats with Nappa leather upholstery, the Audi virtual cockpit plus instrument cluster, the Audi MMI experience plus infotainment system, and a Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium sound system.

Audi S5 Sedan

While packing a similar electrified powerplant, thereby producing similar performance figures, the Audi S5 Sedan uses a Quattro all-wheel drive configuration with a sport differential and swaps the adaptive air suspension for the S sport suspension system. 

And although it also gets plenty of black appliques, it sets itself apart with a panoramic glass roof with switchable transparency and a set of 20-inch cast aluminum Audi Sport wheels in multi-spoke S design.

On top of the instrument panel and the infotainment system, the Audi S5 Sedan also gets a head-up display, the MMiI front passenger display, and leather seats with the “S” badge.

Audi Q5 Premium

Despite losing some displacement, the Audi Q5 Premium mid-size luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) still puts out decent numbers — all while allowing would-be owners to enjoy the perks of electrified mobility.

Below the hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with hybrid technology. The seven-speed S tronic transmission sends power to the front wheels to make 226 horses and 340 Nm of pulling power. 

With a suspension tuned for comfort, it does about 226 kph.

Notable are its Audi rings in polar white, aluminum roof rails and roof edge spoiler, and 19-inch cast aluminum wheels.

Cabin amenities include the Audi virtual cockpit plus and MMI experience plus combo with a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. It also has leather seats and a triple-zone deluxe automatic air conditioning.

Audi Q5 S line

Also packing a 2.0-liter turbo engine is the Audi Q5 S line, which runs on gasoline and has hybrid electric vehicle technology. It is also equipped with a seven-speed S tronic transmission, but makes a little more “oomph” at 240 hp and 340 Nm.

Speed peaks at 226 kph, and it also uses the comfort suspension for a pliable ride quality. 

Notable exterior furnishings include LED illumination, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails and a spoiler, as well as a set of 20-inch cast aluminum Audi Sport wheels.

The driver will operate the vehicle using a two-spoke leather steering wheel. Past which is the Audi virtual cockpit plus, complemented by the MMI experience plus infotainment screen. Aside from leather upholstery, it also uses the Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium sound system.

Audi Q3 Premium

Finally, the Audi Q3 Premium gets the smallest displacement at 1.5 liters. The hybrid gasoline engine sends power to the front wheels via a seven-speed S tronic tranny and achieves a top speed of 209 kph with a maximum power output of 150 hp and 250 Nm.

Comfort Suspension keeps the ride, well, comfortable. 

Its Audi rings are also in polar white, which works well with the aluminum roof rails and advanced bumpers in full paint finish. Illuminated Audi rings at the rear add more character to the compact SUV, while 18-inch cast aluminum wheels in a multi-spoke design boost its sportiness.

Further, it comes with the Audi virtual cockpit plus and Audi virtual cockpit plus combo with the Audi sound system, leather seats, and a three-zone automatic climate control.
