Auto China 2024: Honda launches e:NP2, e:NS2

BEIJING: Honda has launched the e:NP2 and e:NS2 electric vehicles (EV) on the first day of Auto China 2024. 

Per the Japanese carmaker, the Honda e:NP2 and e:NS2 models are part of the 10 EV models the brand plans to release in China up to 2027. By 2035, the company looks to become an EV-only brand in China. 

Key features

Honda has disclosed some of the key features of the e:NP2 and e:NS2 cars. 

To begin with, they share the e:N architecture F platform, which adopts a high-capacity battery for the intelligent power unit. 

According to Honda, the said platform allows the e:NP2 and e:NS2 EVs to offer an estimated range of 545 kilometers based on the China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle standards. 

In addition, the two newly-launched EVs boast an advanced and highly functional human-machine interface including a large-sized Honda head-up display. 

They also get a large-sized 12.8-inch infotainment display unit with Honda Connect 4.0. 

Further, the two EVs also come with the Intelligent Heating System which minimizes power consumption through various measures such as a cooperative control of the air conditioning unit and other onboard heating features.

The Honda e:NP2 and e:NS2 EVs flaunt futuristic exterior designs. The former is given a linear and clear design whereas the latter has a more emotional appeal, which Honda believes can stimulate people when they see the car. 

Inside, the two offer a clean horizontal design theme for the instrument panel and a comfortable cabin space that envelopes occupants with high-quality materials.

Sale of Honda e:NP2, e:NS2 in China 

In China, the Honda e:NP2 and e:NS2 will be sold starting today. 

They will be available for purchase from GAC Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., a Honda automobile production and sales joint venture in China.
