BAIC PH makes PIMS debut

MANILA: BAIC Philippines has reached another milestone by making its debut at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) to highlight its vision for modern mobility.

Its presence at the event serves as the launch platform for its newest brand campaign "Drive Big with BAIC,” which reflects the Chinese marque’s commitment to “empowering Filipinos with vehicles that deliver capability, confidence, innovation, and freedom.”

“Driving big isn't about size. It's about giving Filipinos more room to live and the confidence to take on whatever the road brings. That's the kind of vehicle we build, and the kind of driver we build it for,” BAIC Philippines Brand Head Timothy Sytin said.

He also emphasized BAIC's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of Filipino motorists.

"Here in the Philippines, we see drivers who want a vehicle that can do more. Something that handles the daily commute but is just as ready when the weekend or a long drive out of town calls. That's what we're building toward, and we believe the future belongs to new-energy SUVs," he added.

Per Sytin, the company looks at its customers as brand ambassadors and attributed the brand’s growth to them.

"Driving big isn't about taking a risk. It's about getting more out of your vehicle, more space, more capability, and more value, while having the peace of mind that you made the right call."

Adding more excitement during its presentation at the motor show were brand ambassadors Benjie, Kobe, and Andre Paras, who, according to BAIC Philippines, embody the spirit behind the tagline—embracing life's opportunities with confidence, purpose, and a willingness to explore new horizons.

Aside from that, the firm also displayed its array of offerings—led by the BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV.

Launched last April, the BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV is engineered for both daily practicality and long-distance adventures.

Propelling the vehicle is an Advanced Range-Extended Electric Vehicle system — a plug-in hybrid setup that lets it cover more than 1,200 kilometers (km) and run on pure electric mode for 152 km (based on China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle standards). Also read:

The model wears a body-on-frame structure and four-wheel-drive system to keep its off-road roots.

It also has vehicle-to-load capability, which can power outdoor essentials using a pair of 220-volt outlets with up to 2.2-kilowatt output.

Other creature comforts that can be found in the vehicle are:

• Two 12.8-inch screens (center control display and a passenger screen
• 12-speaker Infinity sound system with DSP
• In-car air intelligence system that helps maintain a cleaner cabin environment

Priced at P2.888 million, the BAIC B40e rEV Trailmaster can be had in the following interior and exterior tones namely:

The said price tag is packaged with the following warranties:

• Five-year or 150,000 km bumper-to-bumper warranty

• Three-year roadside assistance
