Batch 23 scholars finish Isuzu-TESDA-World Vision auto servicing course

MANILA: The Isuzu Heart and Smile Project (IHSP) Batch 23 scholars have completed their two-year Automotive Servicing Course.

18 individuals comprise IHSP's Batch 27.In a statement, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), 15 individuals have received the NC IV certification last June 20— the highest qualification under the said program.
An educational assistance project between Isuzu Motors Limited Japan (IML), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and World Vision, the aforementioned project “exemplifies Isuzu’s commitment to uplifting underprivileged youth by honing their automotive servicing skills to advance their careers in aftersales service.”
According to the Japanese automaker’s distributor in the country, the IHSP has provided automotive education to 436 underprivileged youth that covers:
- Standard TESDA curriculum for automotive servicing
- Additional classes on Isuzu diesel technology
During his speech, IML Board Director and Managing Executive Director Tetsuya Ikemoto encouraged the new graduates to carry on the program's track record of success.
“We hope that through this project, graduates will be able to satisfy customers by demonstrating the skills you acquired in your training and contribute to the development of the company and the Philippines,” he said.
He also noted that the local automotive industry is growing every year, and that “more and more people are interested in working in it.”
Per IPC, the program has a 94.3-percent employment rate for all its graduates.

Those working overseas are present Australia, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, United States, as well as in other parts of Asia and Middle East.
Following this, the IHSP welcomed 18 new students from Batch 27, who will undergo training until 2027 at the Isuzu-TESDA Auto Mechanic Training Center in Tacloban, Leyte.
For his part, IPC President Mikio Tsukui expressed optimism about the scholars' future success.
“We are honored to be part of these students’ journey as they become professionals who can apply their skills for the benefit of the company, our valued customers, and society,” Tsukui shared. “We look forward to their continued success—not only as key members of the Isuzu dealer network both locally and internationally, but also in their broader career pursuits.”
