BYD Atto3 to benefit from expansion of Ayala EV charging network

MANILA: The BYD Atto3 will benefit from the upcoming expansion of the Ayala electric vehicle charging network, giving more car buyers another reason to pick the newly-launched nameplate over its competitors.

According to AC Motors Chief Executive Officer Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, the company will increase its charging stations to more than 100 by next year.

“From an initial charging network of just 20 stations today, we aim to have over 100 charging stations within our network by next year. This number will grow every single month moving forward,” noted AC Motors’ head honcho.

In doing so, owners of the electric BYD Atto3 can get to “drive worry-free” throughout the city and when going to their favorite weekend destinations.

The said charging stations will be built in key locations within Ayala-owned properties.

“Stations will be built in Ayala estates and with select partners nationwide. We have charging stations in Vertis North, Trinoma, One Ayala, Greenbelt, and Seda BGC, among others,” Ayala said.

In addition, the AC Motors big boss revealed that these charging stations will be free to use until the end of 2023.

“And to ensure that our customers feel confident within this ecosystem, we will ensure that these charging stations are free for EV (electric vehicle) owners through the rest of this year,” stated Ayala.

The BYD Atto3 five-seater compact crossover uses the BYD Blade battery, which is said to be one of the safest automotive electric vehicle batteries on the market today.

It can be charged using either an AC or a DC charger and can provide its owners with an estimated emissions-free driving range of anywhere from 400 to 500 kilometers. Its maximum power output is approximately 201 horsepower with 310 Newton-meters of torque.

Offered in two variants (Dynamic and Premium), the BYD Atto3 is priced P1.598 million-P1.798 million.
