CAMPI gets recognition from DENR-EMB as sustainability partner
Award highlights coordination in pushing environmental goals, responsible industry growth
MANILA: The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI) was recognized as an Environmental Sustainability Partner at the 2026 Gawad Kabalikat sa Kapaligiran of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau.

For his part, CAMPI Vice President Atty. Rhys Alexei Murillo of Nissan Philippines emphasized the significance of the recognition. “Receiving this award is a milestone achievement for CAMPI and its Member Companies. Sustainability is an important pillar of the Automotive Industry and requires a shared blueprint for change,” he said.
“CAMPI and its members thank the Philippine Government represented by the DENR for this recognition which motivates us to push the boundaries even further and drive meaningful changes within the Automotive Industry,” he added.
Per CAMPI, sustainability is one of the pillars that support CAMPI’s vision in advancing mobility transition in the Philippines.

Further, CAMPI is also pushing for a multi-pathway approach towards carbon neutrality (through a technology-neutral strategy) to ensure a balanced transition towards electrification.
Aside from that, the alliance also supports policy research for carbon neutral fuels and sustainable and renewable energy. It also aims to leverage its international partnerships and maximize industry dialogues to learn best practices and policy approaches in promoting a circular economy in the automotive industry.
Relatedly, CAMPI’s member companies further promote cleaner and more efficient vehicle technologies while enhancing sustainability practices within their operations.
