Zigwheels PH monthly wrap: Feb. 2026

MANILA: The month of February 2026 went full steam ahead for the automotive and motorcycle industry with a bunch of launches from major brands. 

Several automakers the world over have also begun disclosing their sales reports for 2025, while others have highlighted their latest partnerships with various companies from other industries. 

In the local scene, a Japanese marque has held its first-ever large-scale customer- and car-club-centric event at the Clark International Speedway. In the same month, a brand-new player in the local scene has entered the luxury segment, opening new dealerships and introducing an all-new offering. 

Obviously, a lot has happened in the second month of 2026, so, without further ado, here is Zigwheels Philippines’ news wrap for February.

Local launches

GWM Haval H9

February 2026 opened with the introduction of the all-new GWM Haval H9 for the local market. 

The said sport utility vehicle (SUV) is a three-row model powered by a 2.4-liter inline-four, turbocharged diesel engine linked to a nine-speed automatic transmission. At maximum, the SUV produces 183 horsepower (hp) and 480 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. 

Pricing for the three-row, off-road-capable GWM Haval H9 starts at P1.998 million. Until March 31, 2026, it is available an introductory price of P1.928 million.

Mitsubishi Versa Van

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has brought back the Versa Van. Currently it retails at P1.649 million.

Propelling the 15-seater model is a 2.5-liter diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The said engine can produce up to 127 hp and 356 Nm of torque.

Honda Click 125

Likewise brought into the country in February 2026 is the updated Click 125. It received changes for its overall styling, and its powertrain is now built in Honda Philippines Incorporated’s (HPI) own local facility.

Updated Honda CR-V and 30th Anniversary Edition City

Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated’s (HCPI) launches for February 2026 consist of the updated CR-V and the new City (hatchback and sedan) 30th Anniversary Edition. 

For the Honda CR-V, the model now has two e:hybrid electric vehicle (e:HEV) variants: the RX and the VX. Moreover, the top-spec RS now uses an all-wheel-drive layout. Its third trim is the adventure-oriented V Turbo HuNT. 

The 30th Anniversary Edition trims of the City, meanwhile, both sport black-colored exterior trim pieces and exclusive emblems commemorating the nameplate’s three decades of success in the Philippines.

BMW X1 XDrive25e M Sport

SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation has expanded its electrified lineup with the launch of the BMW X1 XDrive25e M Sport. This model can churn out up to 245 hp and 477 Nm. It also has a pure-electric range of up to 101 kilometers (km).

Royal Enfield Himalayan Black Mana Edition

The Royal Enfield Himalayan Black Mana Edition was launched in the Philippine market as the 400-cubic-centimeter (cc) adventure bike’s new top-spec trim.

Notably, features of the Himalayan Black Mana Edition include the Stealth Black colorway, and plenty of other black-colored parts and styling bits.

Nissan Patrol 3.5 V6 TT AT 4X4

Nissan Motor Philippines launched a new, more affordable version of the Patrol SUV. Priced at P5.335 million, the Nissan Patrol 3.5 V6 TT AT 4X4 carries over the top-spec trim’s mechanicals and features, but it lacks the two extra displays for the second row.

Yamaha Lexi

Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. (YMPH) has rolled out the Yamaha LEXI automatic motorcycle at the “Dare to Defy” event. 

Per the brand, this new model bridges the gap between its 125-cc and 155-cc offerings and is touted to provide accessibility to customers without sacrificing performance. 

To note, the Yamaha Lexi comes with the same 155-cc motor found on many other Yamaha motorcycles. It is, however, far more affordable, with a suggested retail price of P99,900.

Kawasaki 2026 lineup

Kawasaki Motors Philippines has unveiled its lineup of motorcycles for the 2026 model year. These include the Ninja ZX-10R, KLE500 adventure motorcycles, and the Z1100.

Bajaj PH market new roster

Through Trimotors Technology Corporation (TTC), Bajaj has introduced several new models for the local motorcycle market. 

The brand’s locally-available roster of rides includes the following: 

• Dominar400
• Pulsar RS200
• Pulsar NS160
• Pulsar NS125

Denza D9

Denza Philippines has launched the all-new D9 luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). It boasts a roomy three-row interior, a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) powertrain with all-wheel-drive (AWD), and a pure electric range of 180 km.

Volvo ES90, EX90 

Volvo Philippines, under Hariphil Asia Resources Incorporated (HARI), has launched the ES90 and EX90 battery electric vehicles (BEV). 

The Volvo ES90 is described as an executive sedan, while the EX90 was designed as a family-friendly crossover.

Local upcoming cars

Toyota RAV4

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has showcased the upcoming next-generation RAV4 at the 54th Golden Tee held at the Manila Golf and Country Club. The said model was also given away as a “Hole-in-One” prize.

VinFast Philippines previewed the upcoming Limo Green all-electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). It was also announced that it will have a price of P1.099 million if acquired with a battery subscription.

Nissan N7

The Nissan N7 all-electric sedan could be entering the Philippines in the near future. This was hinted by its inclusion in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) list of certified new electric vehicles.

Suzuki eVitara

Another model that might see a local launch soon is the Suzuki eVitara, which was also listed in the DOE’s website dedicated to NEV models.

Honda Prelude

HCPI has officially started the reservation period of the upcoming Prelude hybrid coupe. Social media posts by the brand’s dealerships and agents also revealed its supposed suggested retail price. 

UAAGI upcoming models

 United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI) brands Chery Auto Philippines, Jetour Auto Philippines Incorporated, and Lynk & Co Philippines are set to introduce a series of new car models this year. This was revealed by their respective heads at the UAAGI On the Move roadshow.

GAC GS8 Hybrid

GAC International Philippines has announced that it will bring in the GS8 Hybrid this year. The brand’s local arm event announced its pre-ordering period, which is due to start in March 2026.

Local industry updates

In February 2026, tire brand Giti formed a partnership with Power Tractire Incorporated (PTTI), with the former now handling distributions for the Philippine market. 

Within the same month, Denza Philippines opened its new network of flagship dealerships. The aforementioned includes facilities located in Makati, Cebu, and Alabang. The brand is also building an upcoming dealership in Greenhills. 

It was also announced that the upcoming 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) will have extra floor space at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC).

The Mitsubishi Xpander was also hailed as the best-selling vehicle in the Philippines for 2025 with a total volume of 28,081 units.

On the other hand, the latest combined report from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) indicates that the local automotive industry’s sales performance declined by 10 percent in January 2026. 

Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) has boosted its presence in the southern part of Metro Manila with the opening of its latest outlet in Alabang. 

To promote tourism, BYD Cars Philippines has partnered with the Department of Tourism to highlight top tourist destinations while promoting sustainable mobility. ACMobility, on the other hand, strengthened its push towards transport electrification with the introduction of ChargeFleet.

In the realm of commercial vehicles, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has delivered aid to the victims of Typhoon Tino. Hino Motors Philippines has also delivered a major fleet to a logistics company in Laguna, while MMPC has achieved the 900,000-unit production milestone for its L300 model.  

YMPH also held its 2026 Dealer Summit, where it hailed its top-performing distributors for 2025. 

Kia Philippines, meanwhile, was given the Asia-Pacific Regional Distributor of the Year Award at the 2026 Kia Global Distributors Convention.

In February, TMP opened the Toyota Los Baños Service Center - the company’s new standalone service center in CALABARZON. It is touted to offer clients a wide array of services in one convenient location. 

Per Ford and data from CAMPI, the Everest is the best-selling 4x4 SUV for 2025. The Mustang was likewise hailed as the best-selling sports car in the Philippines last year. 

The Land Transportation Office launched a probe to investigate the participants of the Ironman Challenge in Davao. Senate Deputy Majority Leader Joseph Victor Ejercito likewise reiterated the need to protect innocent drivers from getting jailed after being involved in a road accident. The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) also warned against the unauthorized use of government vehicles during holidays and weekends. 

Kawasaki Philippines led the sales of the local motorcycle industry’s tricycle segment in 2025, while Suzuki Philippines has released pawikans (sea turtles) as a part of its conservation efforts in Bataan. 

TMA shared that its member brands have collectively sold 11,361 units in 2025.

Nissan Philippines also held its first-ever Nissan Festival in the local setting. The aforementioned event saw droves of car club members, Nissan car owners, and car enthusiasts. 

Global industry updates

Toyota Motor Corporation has revealed a leadership transition in its executive team. Kenta Kon, who currently serves as Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will take on the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective April 1, 2026.

Aston Martin announces its partnership with Swiss watchmaker Breitling. As a result, the timepiece brand is now the “Official Watch Partner” of its Formula One race outfit.

Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda has been inducted as part of the global Automotive Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

BMW also issued a recall for over 150,000 X3 units worldwide. 

VinFast’s parent company, Vingroup — and its commercial real estate arm, Vinhomes — were included in TIME Magazine’s Asia-Pacific’s Best Companies of 2026 list. VinFast has also entered the Indonesian electric scooter market by securing agreements with its initial dealer-partners 

Toyota introduces the fully-electric version of the Pixis kei van, which is seen to provide abundant interior space and practicality.
