Bajaj formally unveils 2-wheeler PH roster

MANILA: Bajaj has formally introduced its initial two-wheeler lineup for the Philippine market.

During the official brand launch (dubbed the "Future in Motion"), Trimotors Technology Corporation (TTC)-led distributor unveiled its five nameplate motorcycle roster lineup led by the Dominar400—a model previously under Kawasaki Motors Philippines. 

Joining the middleweight offering are the Pulsar series namely the NS400Z, NS125, NS160, and RS200.

Here are the details about TTC’s offerings under the Indian two-wheeler marque. 

Dominar400

Powering the Bajaj Dominar400 is a four-stroke, four pot, double overhead cam, triple spark, single cylinder, 373 cubic centimeter, gasoline-powered mill. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission with slipper clutch, the powertrain can deliver 39 horses and 35 Newton-meters of torque. 

Assuring the model’s stopping power are the pair of single disc brakes with anti-locking system (ABS) while stability is ensured by the inverted front forks at the front. 

Its notable amenities include the taller windshield, and handguards, updated belly plate, side panniers, dual-barrel exhausts, a digital instrument cluster, and a Type-A USB port with matching mobile phone bracket.

Available in three color options namely Red, Aurora Green, and Charcoal Black, the Bajaj Dominar400 is priced at P208,888.

Pulsar NS400Z

Similar to the Dominar400, the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z comes with the same 373 cc engine, six-speed transmission, and slipper clutch. However, this one comes with a slightly different look. 

The model’s single disc brakes also feature dual-channel ABS, and a switchable traction control (sport and off-road).

Its digital console has numerous features such as Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, message and call alert, music control as well as lap timer. 

Offered in Brooklyn Black, Glossy Racing, Pearl Metallic White, and Pewter Gray, the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z can be had for P199,888.

Pulsar RS200

Slotted just below the Pulsar NS400Z is the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 sport motorcycle. The fully-faired two-wheeler carries a 199.5cc engine paired with six-speed transmission. This combo has the capacity to provide a peak churn of 24 horsepower and nearly 19 Nm. 

Controlling the sportbike for daily commute are hydraulic disc brakes with dual-channel ABS.

Like the NS400Z, the RS200 also comes with a digital gauge cluster with Bluetooth connectivity as well as a selectable traction control system (Road, Rain, Offroad).

Retailed in the sole Active Black Option, this offering can be taken home for P133,888.

Pulsar NS160

The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is engineered with a four-stroke, single cylinder, two-valve air-cooled 164.82cc engine matched to a five-speed constant mesh transmission that has a maximum of 16 hp and almost 15 Nm of pulling power. 

Paired with a 14-liter tank, the motorcycle can reportedly reach 59.11 kilometers per liter.

It has disc brakes with dual channel ABS, and Bajaj Ride Connect-ready instrumentation.

The color options for the Bajaj Pulsar NS160—which carries a P115,888-price tag — are Brooklyn Black, Polar Sky Blue, Glossy Racing Red, and Pearl Metallic White.

Pulsar NS125 

Completing the brand’s initial lineup for the country—particularly under the Bajaj Pulsar lineup—is the NS125.

Bearing the engine with lowest displacement (and as the name suggests), the model is equipped with a two-valve, single spark, 124.58cc engine that dishes out 12 horses and 11Nm. This is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

While it has disc-drum-brake combo for its braking system, the entry-level offering has a digital cluster. 

Offered for only P79,888, this motorcycle is available in the following dual color options:

• Ebony Black and  Cocktail Red Wine
• Ebony Black and Purple Fury
• Pewter Grey and Citrus Rush
