Kawasaki takes lion’s share of PH tricycle market in 2025

MANILA: Kawasaki Philippines led the sales of the local motorcycle industry’s tricycle segment in 2025.

Without sharing specific numbers, the motorcycle distributor disclosed that it furthered its dominance in the aforementioned category after cornering 61.5-percent of the market. Aside from that, it also experienced a 14.8-percent increase in retail performance under the same classification year on year.

In a statement, the company noted that the said volume reinforces its position as the preferred two-wheeler brand livelihood and utility use in the country.

According to Kawasaki Philippines, its leadership in the country’s tricycle segment is spearheaded by the robust sales of the Barako 175 and CT lineup.

Further, its overall performance in 2025 yielded to a 15.7-percent year-on-year increase in its total motorcycle sales in the country. Such an output showed the biggest growth among major Japanese motorcycle brands in the local market.

This month, the firm will also expand its leisure motorcycle lineup, featuring highly anticipated models previously unveiled at major international motor shows such as the Japan Mobility Show and EICMA in 2025.

“As Kawasaki Philippines moves into the year ahead, the company remains focused on building on its leadership in core segments while continuing to strengthen its presence across a wider range of motorcycle categories, supporting riders, operators, and dealers across the country,” the marque’s local arm stated.
