GWM PH launches Haval H9 with P1.998-M SRP

MANILA: Great Wall Motor (GWM) Philippines, under the management of Luxuriant Automotive Group Incorporated (LAGI), has officially launched the all-new Haval H9 midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV). 

The model promises a good balance of turbodiesel performance with a well-equipped cabin fitted with creature comforts. This package, which comes in a ladder-frame platform, is also an off-road-capable ride with a family-friendly, three-row layout. 

Price-wise, the model is pegged at P1.998 million. However, model is available in the local market with an introductory price of P1.928 million until May 31, 2026.

The said SUV goes together with a seven-year, or 200,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first. Available colors for the all-new GWM Haval G9 include Stealth Grey, Iceberg White, and Midnight Black. 

So, what is the newly launched GWM Haval H9 offering to would-be Filipino buyers?

Powertrain

Under the hood of the GWM Haval H9 is a 2.4-liter inline-four, turbocharged diesel engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. At its peak, the SUV produces 183 horsepower and 480 Newton-meters of torque. 

For enhanced off-road performance, the Haval H9 uses a torque-on-demand four-by-four system with a dedicated “Off-road Expert mode,” and standard drive modes, such as economy, sport, normal, mud, and sand. Likewise, present is a dedicated four-low system for particularly challenging terrain. 

Ride quality and stability for the all-new GWM Haval H9 are ensured by a front double-wishbone and a rear multi-link suspension system. Stopping power is provided by front and rear discs.

Exterior

Appearance-wise, the GWM Haval H9 evokes the spirit of age-old rugged SUV legends with its boxy shape and abundant on-road presence.

Exterior illumination for the model is done via LED fixtures, with its headlamp clusters bearing a round and rustic design. Towards the rear are square LED taillights, paired with a spare tire holder and a chunky rear bumper.

Interior

Inside the GWM Haval H9 is a seven-seater layout equipped with leather seats and a triple-zone automatic climate control system. 

Its driver, on the other hand, has access to a power-adjustable seat, a leather steering wheel, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a dedicated off-road information display. 

Other amenities inside the vehicle include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Sunroof
• Rear air conditioning vents
• 50-watt wireless charging pad
• Type A and C USB ports
• Voice command feature

The model’s main display is a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Outputting sound inside the Haval H9’s cabin is an eight-piece speaker set. 

Safety

The GWM Haval H9’s standard safety kit consists of six airbags, an anti-lock braking system, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill-descent control, hill-start assist, traction control, tire pressure monitoring, and rollover mitigation. The vehicle is also capable of automatically cutting off fuel and unlocking its doors in the event of an accident.

Apart from its basic safety kit, the GWM Haval H9 also has a 360-degree view camera, cruise control with off-road mode, rear parking sensors, and an electronic parking brake.
