Here are some details about the PH-spec GWM Haval H9

MANILA: It’s all just a matter of time before the Philippine-spec GWM (Great Wall Motor) Haval H9 will be formally revealed to the country.

This, after the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released the homologation papers for the aforementioned model that determines its classification and the schedule of registration fees it falls under.

To recall, the GWM Haval H9— which is is set to take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, and Ford Everest — was shown to the public at the Manila International auto Show 2025 last April (alongside the updated Cannon).

GWM Philippines  — which is under Luxuriant Automotive Group — has yet to share details of its upcoming offering that will compete in the highly-contested local midsize sport utility vehicle.

While waiting, here are some pieces of facts about the soon-to-be-retailed SUV in the Philippines based on the LTO documentation.

According to government agency, the GWM Haval H9 comes with the following measurements:

Overall dimensions (length, width, height; in millimeters [mm>)	4,950 x 1,976 x 1,930
Wheelbase (in mm)	2,850
Ground clearance (in mm)	224
Gross vehicle weight (in kilograms)	3,020

Further, the upcoming seven-seater vehicle sits on 19-inch wheels wrapped in 265//55 tires.

Powering the GWM Haval H9 is a 2.4-liter diesel engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission (same with the GWM Cannon) which means it could also provide:

• Maximum output: 178 horsepower
• Peak torque: 480 Newton-meters

Such a mill configuration allows the model to go as fast as 170 kilometers per hour.

As of posting, the model is expected to arrive in a sole trim, which is in all-wheel-drive configuration.

As seen in the model’s local preview early this year, the GWM Haval H9 is outfitted with Nappa leather and two digital displays (digital gauge cluster and floating infotainment system) and an additional air-conditioning system control at the middle row.

GWM Philippines is expected to reveal the vehicle’s pricing soon.
