Changan launches 'Tianshu Intelligent'

MANILA: Changan Automobile has launched its new intelligent sub-brand at the 5th Changan Auto Tech Ecosystem Conference held in conjunction with the World Smart Industry Expo 2025 in Chongqing, China.

In a statement, Changan shared that the introduction of Tianshu Intelligent marked the Chinese automaker’s major debut since the formal establishment of China Changan Automobile Group.

“In the realm of intelligence, we focus on only three things: safety, safety, and safety. Our new brand, Tianshu Intelligent, has been developed to deliver truly secure intelligent mobility solutions. It is built upon Changan’s world‑class safety infrastructure, seamlessly integrated with our industry‑leading intelligent technologies,” Changan Automobile Chairman Zhu Huarong was quoted as saying.

“At its core lies the ‘Keen perception – Agile Mind – Precise Execution’ concept, encompassing three vital domains: predictive, reliable driving assistance; an intelligent cockpit that connects users and technology without boundaries; and a chassis system engineered for unwavering stability and pinpoint control, even in emergency situations. Every element is designed to elevate intelligent travel safety for our customers in every dimension,” he added.

At the event, Changan displayed its more than 10 new models that include the Avatr 07, Deepal L06 and Changan Qiyuan A06.

It also noted that a 10,000-square-meter (sqm) Tianshu Intelligent Lab highlighted more than 200 advanced technologies — while an additional 20,000-sqm outdoor area served as the Tianshu Intelligent Demonstration Zone and Low‑Altitude Flying Demonstration Zone.

Live demonstrations included real-world safety scenarios such as blowout stability, sand escape, and pendulum parking, alongside spectacular flying cars and jetpack performances — offering visitors a vivid glimpse into the future of mobility.

According to Changan, its 24,000-strong engineering team developed Tianshu Intelligent under the “Pan‑Safety” concept in a span of five years. It has grown from traditional physical protection to a holistic safety system covering driving safety, health, psychological well‑being, and data privacy.

Further, the company mentioned that the Tianshu Intelligent features 62 core technologies, 96 functional scenarios, and eight industry‑first innovations, which include:

• Driving Assistance: Interactive navigation that understands environments via multi‑modal AI, confidently navigating narrow alleys; night‑vision autonomous emergency braking that detects hazards two seconds before the human eye.
• Tianshu Cockpit: Immersive three-dimensional surround sound; AAA-level display quality; smart home connectivity; materials made up of non-toxic materials, triple-layer air purification, and industry-first certified anti-motion sickness technology.
• Tianshu Chassis: Advanced hazard detection and avoidance that includes tire condition monitoring, torque control, and crosswind stability systems.

Moreover, Changan is pushing for three initiatives namely:

• Shangri‑La: New energy development
• Dubhe: Intelligent technology
• Vast Ocean: Global market expansion

Currently, Changan operates 44 research and development centers across 16 core fields, with over 200 laboratories — including the industry’s only National Intelligent Vehicle Safety Technology Laboratory, which houses the Tianshu Intelligent Lab and six specialized clusters for global simulation testing, human factors engineering, and intelligent driving systems.

Changan has also teamed up with Huawei, Tencent, and Haier to build a fully integrated digital ecosystem and is also expanding into robotics and low‑altitude aviation — with plans to launch its first flying car next, start mass production in 2028, and develop a low‑altitude ecosystem by 2035.
