Chery Auto PH shares more details about upcoming NEV models

Following its announcement that it will reveal three new nameplates in the country soon, Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) will preview three new energy vehicles (NEV) at the upcoming Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit 2023.

Without sharing the specific details yet, the Chinese automaker’s local arm said that it is set to showcase two purely-electrified models and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) at the event on October 19-21 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

During Chery’s relaunch locally last July, CAP Managing Director Froilan Dytianquin highlighted the company’s new direction towards electrification.

“Chery Auto Philippines wants to be at the forefront of change promoting a new era of green mobility. This path we are heading to aligns with Chery’s global advocacy to promote green mobility through technological innovation… Essentially, Chery’s current model lineup will be further complemented with complete new energy derivatives such as Hybrids, PHEVs and new full Electric Vehicle models,” the company executive was quoted as saying.

"With the preview of these new energy vehicles, we want to show Chery’s commitment towards preservation of the environment and at the same time provide customers alternatives for electric mobility to offset the rising fossil fuel costs,” Dytianquin added.  

Currently, CAP offers three hybrid models in the local market: the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV, Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid, and Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid.

The firm also shared that the event-goers could test drive other Chery models like the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid and the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ PHEV.
