Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible: Show Stunner of NYC Auto Show 2016

MANILA: It's not been many days when the Chevrolet announced the new Camaro with the ZL1 badging and finally the lid has blown off of the Chevrolet's jaw-dropping addition to the Camaro series at the 2016 NYC Auto Show. The latest Camaro ZL1 stole all the spotlight at the show for all the right reasons and stunned its audience with the ZL1 convertible.

Chevy is known to always satisfy the hunger of its fans and always come up with the new look to turn heads. Recently on the 50th anniversary of Chevy Camaro, it came up with the special edition of Camaro adorned in a new livery. Now the drop-top ZL1 along with its coupe version was the show-stopper where the brand even tagged the car as the high-performance convertible. With only a few minor visual variations which differentiate it from the hardtop, the ZL1 convertible is stated to offer the comparable performance to its coupe. Both the ZL1 models share the Camaro's signature modular and rigid body architecture. The convertible version of the muscle car carries over the character of the Camaro with its thin wave-like grille sporting the Chevrolet's badge. It also features the side rocker panels rich in aerodynamics and the bulky 20-inch forged aluminium wheels to maintain its beasty presence on road.

The new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes with the same old supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine which we have known from the outgoing model but it has been tuned to deliver an immense 640 hp maximum power along with the peak torque of 867 Nm. Carrying over the magnetically-adjustable active suspension system and electronic brake-based limited slip differential, the high-performance convertible will come with an option of 10-speed automatic transmission and a standard six-speed manual.

Exact performance figures are yet to be figured out but what we are certain about is that the new Camaro ZL1 Convertible is ready to outclass the most advanced performance cars in any measure. The Camaro ZL1 Coupe will arrive at the showrooms later this year while we can expect the ZL1 Convertible to land in early 2017.
