Ex-Ayala-led Honda dealerships now under Gateway, BMG

MANILA: Two partners of Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI) shall take over the dealerships that ACMobility will leave behind.

Beginning January 1 next year, the Honda dealerships that were operated by the Ayala-led mobility arm (via Iconic Dealership Incorporated) will soon be under the Gateway Group and the Borromeo Motoring Group (BMG).

According to the Japanese automaker’s arm in the country, the transition to the dealer-partners — which were said to be “rich with automotive retail experience” — serves as a strategic evolution of its dealership network aimed at expanding reach, elevating service quality, and reinforcing its commitment to the customer experience.

According to HCPI, the two will have the following facilities:

To recall, ACMobility and HCPI noted in a statement that the termination of their 35-year co-operation reflects the evolving strategies of both companies.

New subsidiary to drive direct dealer ops

Aside from the appointing who will manage the said dealerships, HCPI is also set to establish a new subsidiary that will operate Honda Cars Shaw.

The aforementioned thrust, the local distributor claimed, will “elevate the overall customer experience across all dealerships nationwide”, saying that it will bringing the firm closer to the market to meet customer needs and boost satisfaction to higher levels through enhancement of dealer operational efficiency throughout the network.

HCPI President Rie Miyake expressed confidence in the new developments.

“In a combined effort, the new subsidiary and our new and existing dealer partners will drive forward and ensure that Honda’s profound dedication to customer satisfaction is fully realized,” the company helm was quoted as saying.

HCPI will secure approval from the government regulatory bodies and once approved, this strategic move is expected to commence come early 2026.
