Ferrari GTC4Lusso is the new Italian Cuisine at Geneva 2016

MANILA: It’s the commencement of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and it all started with the grand unveiling of all new Ferrari sportscar. Yes! Hold your horses, the rest is yet to come; the Italian automaker has just dropped another bombshell into the market, christened as Ferrari GTC4Lusso. The podium goes insane when the Italian boffins were wrapping off sport car’s red curtains. Yes! Cars. The firm has unveiled not one, but two four-seater models at the Geneva Motor Show stage.

The Italian supercar manufacturer have taken their design inspiration from the Ferrari California T. The newly introduced sports cars are said to be its sibling, but with a few additional tweaks and tune-ups. One is dressed in a Bianco Italia livery complemented with Blu sterling interior and the other one comes wrapped in Grigio Ferro Met accompanied with Cognac semi-aniline leather cabin.

Let’s get inside and under the hood of Ferrari GTC4Lusso:

Elegant Exterior

It is all made of beautifully placed curves. Some of the sustainable and noticeable factors I’ve come across are the contemporary grille, aerodynamic design, stylish curves and cues, and above all the delightful sporty appearance. The brilliantly designed headlamps are the first and foremost thing that catches your eyes. The touch of signature GT element, sharp-edged headlamps that look like glossy eyes, and Low-e panoramic roof gives an elegant touch to its exterior. The Low-e Panoramic roof helps to keep the cabin’s temperature constant. The firm has fitted the diamond-finish forged wheels. Talking about the dynamic control systems fitted in the vehicle offers a consistent stability even when driving in low-grip situations.

Intimate Interior

The Cognac semi-aniline leather cabin is the first eye-grabbing thing fitted into the sports car. Feast your eyes with the newly designed cockpit. Yes! The Italian boffins have redesigned an all new driver’s cockpit and even more comfort-oriented passenger’s cockpit. The driver and passenger, both will be having their own comfort zone by centrally divided cockpits. The wraparound seats are creatively designed to provide luxurious ambience to the passengers. The Italian designers have used enriched materials to offer an innovative and comfort-oriented driving experience.

To entertain the passengers, the firm has fitted a maiden infotainment system with a 10.25” capacitive touch screen; that helps in navigation too. Apart from this, there is another 8.8” touchscreen and Apple Car Play for passengers as well. Instead of having 2+ seats, it is no less than a versatile car to be ridden amongst all seasons.

Prowess Powertrain

Being a versatile sports car, Ferrari GTC4Lusso is enriched with high-quality performance powertrain. It is powered by a 6,262cc V-12 engine which is tuned to pump out a maximum power of 680 hp @ 8000 rpm and achieves a peak torque of 697 Nm @ 5,750 rpm. The tuning has been done in such a way that the 80% of the peak torque is already achieved at just 1,750 rpm. The 6,262cc engine is mated to a 7-speed F1 Dual-Clutch gearbox.

With the premiere of this newly unleashed Ferrari Grand Tourer concept, the engineers there have worked towards the integration of rear-wheel steering in a four-seater model. It features the Ferrari’s patented 4RM-S that integrates with the four-wheel drive PTU (Power Transfer Unit).

After installing all these enhanced technologies in this luxurious sports car, it is capable to achieve a top speed of 335 kmph; and can reach 0-100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds.

Verdict

The Italian automaker has brought versatility and performance together to design this ultimate machine on wheels.
