Ford Ranger Raptor V6 celebrates 1st Anniversary in PH with 1k owners

MANILA: The Ford Ranger Raptor V6 already has 1,000 owners in the Philippines since its initial introduction at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).

The aforementioned is a fitting milestone to mark the nameplate’s first anniversary in the local market. 

Back then, the high-performance pickup truck was launched with limited quantities. But due to popular demand, Ford Philippines opted to make the said Ranger Raptor variant a permanent addition to its lineup.

“The response to the Ranger Raptor 3.0L V6 in its first year has been incredible,” Ford Philippines Managing Director and President Pedro Simoes was quoted as saying. 

“Customers have embraced it as both a serious performance pickup and a trusted everyday companion, and their stories show how strongly the truck fits Filipino lifestyles,” the executive added. 

As mentioned above, the burly truck’s anniversary in the Philippines was made more festive by testimonies of select owners. 

First off, Angel Santiago, a system integrator who was one of the first-ever owners of the Raptor V6, consistently used his unit as a long-range daily driver to visit his clients. 

“No matter the distance, the Raptor V6 turned my client visits into something I look forward to,” Santiago shared. 

Ivan Capati, on the other hand, had fun on his first solo trip to La Union and Baguio. Capati’s trip saw inclement weather, but he never felt unsafe.

Raptor car club members Roger Aventurado and Ken Chee likewise professed the performance of the V6-powered Raptor. Zainal Limpao also thinks it was “money well spent,” after attaining a Ford Ranger V6 as an alternative to his Everest.

Ford Ranger Raptor V6 in PH

As of this writing, the Ford Ranger Raptor V6 retails at P2.813 million. 

Under the hood of this model is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline engine that can produce up to 391 horsepower (hp) and 583 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The said engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that sends power to a 4x4 system. It also has a front and rear electronic locking differential and multiple drive modes. 

For its suspension system, it uses a front double wishbone and a Watts Link rear end. Both are equipped with Fox Live Valve shock absorbers featuring internal bypass reservoir dampers. 

Inside, the model was kitted out with a 12-inch central infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle also has a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster, a Bang and Olufsen sound system, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and the Sync 4 software.
