Frankfurt 2015: Jaguar XJ 2016 Debuts in New Shape and Mood

MANILA: Along with the F-Pace, the Jaguar XJ 2016 has also made its debut in the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show. The two new variants, Jaguar XJ-R Sport and XJ Autobiography LWB are added to its current line up which includes XJ Luxury, XJ Premium Luxury, XJ Portfolio, and XJR. Expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of this year or early next year, the Jaguar XJ 2016 is fresh in pleasant in its ways.

The new XJ keeps its basic design intact but introduces some new feature to distinguish itself from current model. The play of freshness include new LED head and tail lamps along with revamped bumpers and redesigned alloy wheels. On the inside, it has new upholstery options with tweaks of updates to enhance the freshness. An 8-inch infotainment unit with Jaguar's InControl Touch Pro system and 12.3-inch instrument cluster with full-screen naviagtion are other tech highlights inside.

Under the hood, it offers the same engines which include a 2.0-litre turbo petrol making 240 PS and 340 Nm, a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 generating 340 PS and 450 Nm, and a 5.0-litre V8 giving two outputs; 510 PS/625 Nm and 550 PS/680 Nm (XJR only). Talking about the diesel option, Jaguar has re-tuned the 3.0-litre V6 which now develops 296 bhp and 700 Nm ( an increase of 100 Nm from previous unit). Both engines are paired with the existing 8-speed ZF automatic transmission to give the sheer joy of performance.
