Geely Azkarra gets top safety rating from C-NCAP
MANILA: The Geely Azkarra crossover received the highest rating in the latest China New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP).
The C-NCAP is an automotive safety test that is organized by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center which evaluates a vehicle model’s crash protection quality by using a star rating system. The program was conducted as part of China’s promotion on road safety.
The Azkarra, also known as Geely Boyue in China, received a score of 58.2 and a five-star rating from the recently concluded assessment. It was followed by the BMW Brilliance X1 which garnered a score of 56.6 and a rating of five stars. The DongFeng Nissan Lannia was also given a five-star rating and a score of 56.1. Another five-star model was the Changan Ford Taurus which got a 55.4 grade. Subaru XV scored 50.9 and received a four-star rating. The Brilliance Jinbei750 got a score of 30.7 and a rating of two stars.
Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) President Mikihisa Takayama said, “Since the very beginning, safety has always been Geely’s primary concern for its vehicles. We equate value with safety. From research and development, pre-production, manufacturing, sale, and after-sales service, we keep in our minds the drivers, passengers, and pedestrians — their safety and peace of mind in every drive.” SGAP is the official distributor of Geely in the Philippines.
Another recent commendation that Geely had received from NCAP was the five-star rating of Coolray from the ASEAN NCAP in October 2020.
