Greenstrum, Huawei Technologies PH highlight EV charging infrastructure, battery solutions
Products aimed at serving property developers, hospitality groups, logistics firms
MANILA: As part of their recently forged partnership, Greenstrum and Huawei Technologies Philippines, Inc. jointly showcased advanced electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and battery solutions.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
How do Greenstrum and Huawei’s BESS technology help manage energy costs for EV charging stations?
Huawei’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) stores electricity during off-peak periods when demand and rates are low, and releases it during high-demand peak hours. What role does Greenstrum play in deploying Huawei's EV and energy solutions in the Philippines?
Greenstrum is an ACMobility subsidiary and Huawei’s certified sales and service provider in the Philippines. The two firms recently hosted the “The New Energy Advantage” session, which gathered more than 20 prospective enterprise partners from five enterprises (including real estate developers and academic institutions).

Per ACMobility’s electric vehicle charging solutions arm, the event gave participants a glimpse on how battery storage and EV charging can work together to help manage energy costs, build resilience, and prepare their sites for the shift to electric mobility.
The session featured Huawei’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which allows businesses to use their electrical capacity more efficiently by storing electricity when demand is low and releasing it when demand is high.
According to Greenstrum, this technology, when combined with its professionally installed EV chargers, can help operators make better use of existing electrical infrastructure while improving the resilience and efficiency of charging operations.
“Greenstrum and Huawei bring together expertise in implementation and the capability to do the design engineering in order to optimize the output of a battery storage system for the client. We don’t come in just to provide hardware. What we do is we come in and provide a solution,” Greenstrum Chief Operating Officer Carl Decleodt was quoted as saying.
“One of those solutions is BESS. Through this technology, we can help you implement savings immediately with a small two-square-meter footprint. It also opens up your business to having your own EV charging station,” he added.
Meanwhile, DMCI Homes Electrical Engineer Daniel Garcia said the company was already integrating EV charging stations into its properties.
“The information given to us regarding BESS and EV chargers is a big help. Having greater power demand versus contracted demand has a big impact on the chargers we’re incorporating, and I think that BESS can help us greatly.”
Daiichi Properties Incorporated Purchasing Officer Liezel Mico echoed Garcia’s views on the benefits of using BESS.
“Looking at it right now, BESS is an investment. You accumulate bigger savings the more you use the equipment, and at the end of the day, it’s a win-win situation.”
To note, the ACMobility subsidiary—being Huawei’s certified sales and service provider—will deploy the Chinese brand’s integrated charging solutions to support the country’s growing EV infrastructure needs.
