Honda brings out the Breeze crossover in China
MANILA: Crossovers, crossovers, and crossovers. That is all that the buyers and the automakers are running behind these days. Even auto giants like Volkswagen are ditching their existing sedans and hatchbacks in favour of new crossovers and SUVs. Then there are the automobile market and manufacturers of China.
Not only there are exclusive models but also numerous joint ventures in the country involving some of the largest brands around the world and China's domestic automakers. One such group is Guangqi Honda, which includes the Honda Motor Company of Japan and the GAC Group of China.

To provide the Chinese masses with another crossover offering and rack up its portfolio, the auto group has just unveiled the Honda Breeze. If you're guessing from the images that this crossover looks quite like the Honda CR-V, well, you're not wrong.
The Honda Breeze is essentially a CR-V with some major aesthetic updates. To be specific, the front end of the Honda Breeze is reminiscent of the front fascia that we have seen on the 2020 Honda Accord. All of the Solid Wing Face design, chrome grille, slim LED headlamps, circular fog lamps, and large air-vents make the front end of the 2020 Honda Breeze.

Moving to the rear end, we see the crossover vaunting a slim pair of LED taillamps. There are also reflectors and exhaust outlets at the bottom corners of the rear bumper. As a whole, the rear of the Honda Breeze is quite different than the one of the CR-V.
The 2020 Honda Breeze gets its power from a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-pot motor that makes 193 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 243 Nm. A CVT channels the power to the wheels, which are five-spoke alloys. Unlike the Philippine-spec CR-V, the Breeze can accommodate only five people.
While there are no images or any other substantial information about the interior of the 2020 Honda Breeze, we expect the crossover to feature a setup similar to the one present on the CR-V. However, there should be some extra features and creature comforts on the top of the basic interior.
The China-exclusive crossover should be launched sometime later this year. Even if the possibilities of the 2020 Honda Breeze making its way to the Philippines are next to none, we already have CR-V up for grabs. Also, Honda launched the all-new BR-V in the country not so long ago. The seven-seater is worth considering if you are out in the market for the proven, reliable, and good looking crossover on a budget. Check out the 2019 Honda BR-V.
