MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company and Shell Lubricants will extend their strategic partnership to improve engine oil quality and advance fluids and coolants dedicated to electric vehicles (EV).

They will also collaborate on global service marketing and motorsports initiatives to support next-generation mobility.Per the South Korean carmaker, the two companies will continue their collaboration through 2031 to pursue new joint initiatives focused on future mobility through expanded joint research and development, service marketing, and motorsports partnerships.
“We are pleased to extend Hyundai Motor’s long-standing partnership with Shell. Through our collaborative aftersales service marketing initiatives over the past years, we have successfully enhanced our global aftersales service competitiveness and improved customer satisfaction by delivering Shell’s premium quality engine oils to Hyundai customers worldwide,” Hyundai Motor Company Senior Vice President and Head of Global Service Sub-division Beom Seok Kang was quoted as saying.
“Together, we will be better positioned to respond proactively to changes in the future mobility market while continuing to create greater value for our customers and strengthen our long-term global competitiveness,” he added.

Partners since 2005
Hyundai Motor Company and Shell Lubricants have been partners since 2005. The renewed alliance marks a growing relationship that was built on more than 20 years of trust.
Going forward, the two brands will strengthen collaboration across multiple areas of the automotive business, such as service marketing activities (to enhance customer satisfaction globally), and joint research focused on next-generation mobility solutions.

Motorsport efforts
As part of expanded collaboration in motorsports and high-performance vehicles, Shell Lubricants has broadened its partnership with Genesis—the luxury brand of Hyundai.
Shell Lubricants has been serving as a performance and innovation partner to Genesis Magma Racing in its debut season in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2026, providing specialized lubricants and coolants for the GMR-001 Hypercar.
The partnership has also extended into the Hyundai N Division to co-engineer lubricants designed for high-performance engines and electric vehicles, offering Shell both a testbed for developing advanced products and a global platform to showcase its solutions to a community of performance-driven customers

Sometime last year, the carmaker’s wing in the country teamed up with the petroleum firm, resulting in the former naming the latter its official lube partner.
As such, all certified Hyundai dealerships have been provided with fully synthetic and semi-synthetic engine oil lubricants that were “tailored for Hyundai vehicle models.”
When the story was reported by Zigwheels Philippines, Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated had 39 active dealerships.
