MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has launched the all-new Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) for the local market. It is the Japanese marque’s best-selling nameplate in Japan and Canada, and it is touted as striking a good balance between comfort and performance.

Powertrain
Propelling the all-new Outlander PHEV is a 2.4-liter gasoline MIVEC engine paired with front and rear electric motors. Power is sent to all four wheels through the Japanese manufacturer’s Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system.
At maximum, the said powertrain can generate up to 301 horsepower and 450 Newton-meters of torque. Per Mitsubishi, it also has a combined driving range of almost 1,000 kilometers (km), as well as an electric-only range of 100 km. Topping up the model is done via a Type 2 alternating current (AC) plug.
