MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) earned various recognitions at the recent GREEN (Guarantee the Restoration of the Environment and our Ecological Niche) Awards held by the City Government of Santa Rosa, Laguna.

According to MMPC, the City Government of Santa Rosa underscored that environmental protection is a shared responsibility, emphasizing that lasting progress can only be achieved through the combined efforts of government, businesses, organizations, and the community.
“MMPC remains committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to a cleaner environment and a more sustainable future, recognizing that economic growth and environmental responsibility must go hand in hand,” the auto firm wrote in a press release.
Locally-built HEVs
MMPC’s strides in sustainability go beyond traditional corporate social responsibility efforts, although the local wing of the Japanese carmaker has rolled out several projects like its Balik-Baterya Scholarship Program and a three-phased forestation project sometime in 2023; as well as a massive forest preservation activity spearheaded by the Carmelray Industrial Corporation, where MMPC subsidiary Asian Transmission Corporation participated.

Here, electrified vehicles will roll out the production line and help reduce the carbon footprint of automobiles plying our roads, but also boost the local automotive industry.
At the time of writing, the only new-energy vehicle in its roster is the upcoming Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
