Mitsubishi subsidiary ATC joins forest preservation activity in Laguna

MANILA: The Asian Transmission Corporation (ATC), Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s (MMC) automotive parts production base in the country, has lent a hand in a massive forest preservation activity spearheaded by the Carmelray Industrial Corporation, together with the Provincial Government of Laguna Environment and Natural Resources Office (Laguna ENRO). 

The aforementioned activity was attended by five ATC employees and was held at the Siniloan Forest Park in Laguna. In total, the ATC participants managed to plant 60 saplings on a one-hectare stretch of land.

Per ATC, it will continue to join corporate social responsibility (CSR) drives such as the one mentioned above, as a means to contribute to preserving the country’s natural splendor. 

For the unaware, ATC is a subsidiary of MMC. Its primary focus is the manufacturing of crucial components of Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation’s (MMPC) popular nameplates, such as:

• L300 light commercial vehicle
• Triton pickup truck,
• Montero Sport mid-size sport utility vehicle 

Additionally, the manufacturing corporation was also involved in the production of component parts for the now-discontinued Lancer Evolution. 

Going back to ATC’s recent CSR tree planting activity, MMPC indicated that it is a part of MMC’s “Step to the future” initiative. 

For those unaware, the initiative focuses on social contribution activities under four different categories: support for the next generation, traffic safety, environmental preservation, and participation in local communities. To be exact, ATC’s participation in Laguna EVRO’s tree planting activity is linked to environmental protection, and also with local community participation since the company is also situated in the Laguna province.
