Thai-spec Mitsubishi Triton gets updated, will PH have it too?

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors has updated the Triton in the Land of Smiles.

In a statement, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand noted that the enhancements for its pickup truck “elevate driving performance to provide a more exciting, thrilling, and superior experience than ever before.”

“Mitsubishi Triton 2025 is not just a high-performance pickup truck — it’s a vehicle with a sleek and cutting-edge design. By listening to customer feedback, we have enhanced both the exterior design, and the fully equipped interior convenience features to better meet the needs of Thai customers, whether for daily use or weekend getaways,” Mitsubishi Motors Thailand President and Chief Executive Officer Ryoichi Inaba was quoted as saying.

Vehicle specifications

Here's what the Thai-marketed 2025 Mitsubishi Triton offers its customers.

The new Mitsubishi Triton sports black claddings that come in the form of:

• Black Dynamic Shield
• Black Door Mirror
• LED Front Fog Light with Black Bezel
• Black Door Handles
• Black Tailgate Handle
• Rear Bumper with Smoked Titanium Accent
• Smoked Titanium Accent Side Step
• 18-inch Black Alloy Wheels.

For its interior, the 2025 Mitsubishi Triton has been fitted with the following creature comforts:

• Synthetic leather seats with Heat Guard
• Nanoe X air purification systemintegrated into the dual-zone automatic climate control
• Adaptive Cruise Control

The new Mitsubishi Triton is equipped with a 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine that can deliver the following numbers:

Maximum output (in horsepower)	204
Peak torque (in Newton-meters)	430

Complementing the powertrain are:

• Newly designed, larger, and stronger Mega Frame chassis
• Upgraded suspension

 Since the version in Thailand is only a mid-cycle refresh, the aforementioned pick-up maintains the following measurements:

As of the moment, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has yet to announce whether they will update the locally-retailed Triton (globally revealed first as the XRT Concept), but we are keeping our fingers crossed that the company would consider bringing it to the country soon.

To recall, MMPC officially replaced the Strada nameplate with the Triton in January 2024.
