Infiniti QX30 makes worldwide debut: 2015 LA Auto Show
MANILA: Infiniti comes under Nissan's luxury segment and now looks forward to expand the segment by revealing its compact QX30 crossover. QX30 is the first crossover released by the automaker as like the first compact hatchback Q30.
Infiniti claims that the new QX30 is a 'Premium Active Crossover' as it comes with a ground clearance of 193 mm. QX30 is based on the third generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class and borrows some of its design accents. The styling is similar to the hatchback Q30 but some significant changes have been done to the exteriors in order to enhance the overall look of the crossover. QX30 gets black plastic cladding, roof rails and a skid plate which makes it appealing.
The interior of QX30 is close enough to its hatchback brother as the Dinamica trim can be seen in the hatchback as well as inside the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. The pillar and roof-line is made up of suede-like material and it also offers a three-spoke steering wheel along with dashboard panel painted in piano black and silver color. QX30 offers a boot space of 368 litres.
QX30 crossover is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine that churns out maximum power of 211PS with a peak torque of 350NM, only available for the U.S market. The engine lineup for the rest of the nations is yet to be revealed but it is likely to share the similar lineup found in the Q30. Additionally, the QX30 offers an all-wheel drive system paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
