GWM unveils Wey V9X

MANILA: Days after starting its pre-order period, GWM has formally unveiled its flagship, highly futuristic, premium electrified offering at the Auto China 2026.

Called the GWM Wey V9X, the Baoding-headquartered marque introduced its latest offering as the first-ever model backed by its new proprietary technology that ensures seamless interaction between cabin and driving systems.

Per GWM, its premiere luxury vehicle “represents the culmination of the brand’s 36-years automotive experience.”

The six-seater easily commands attention as it tapes in at:

Such measurements complemented its elegant and sophisticated aesthetics rooted in classic Eastern design language, thanks to the following portions:

• Slim headlights with integrated daytime running lamps

Inside the model provides a luxurious experience, thanks to its premium creature comforts such as:

• 31-speaker, company-developed audio system

• Sun curtain
• 48 storage spaces
• Car refrigerator

The GWM Wey V9X can be had in three electrified powertrain options (battery electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid) in standard and extended wheelbase variations.        

• Among its notable technologies include:
• Closed dual-chamber air suspension with continuous variable damper
• Rear wheel steering

Engineered under the GWM One S platform, the model is supported by GWM “Little Wei,” which connects advanced driving systems with the cockpit, ushering in a new era of intelligent, effortless mobility.

What is GWM One S platform?

Launched in early this year, the GWM One S platform follows "One Vehicle, Multiple Powertrains" philosophy. This modular approach breaks the vehicle down into over 300 reusable components.

The Super Hi4 system is the first in the world compatible with five powertrains—be it as plug-in hybrid, hybrid, pure electric, hydrogen, and internal combustion engine configuration.

Further, the platform brings a myriad of features namely:

• Six-level active suspension
• Three-dimensional visualization system that allows users to intuitively observe damping performance
• Four-wheel steering system enables convenient U-turns at low speeds and stable lane changes at high speeds and crab-walk mode.
