GMW Cannon, Haval 9: mechanical specs
Under the hood of the GWM Cannon Pilot and Elite trims is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. This is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and can produce up to 158 horsepower (hp) and 400 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
Photo by Ruben Manahan IVBoth variants of the Cannon feature a torque-on-demand 4x4 system, an electronic gear shift, and a double-wishbone front suspension and a leaf-spring rear suspension. Stopping power is provided by front and rear disc brakes.
On the other hand, the GWM Cannon LUX and SLUX are propelled by a slightly larger and more powerful 2.4-liter turbodiesel mill. The aforementioned engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox equipped with paddle shifters, an electronic gear selector, a drive mode selector (economy, normal, sport), and a 4x4 torque-on-demand system.
At maximum, the Cannon LUX and SLUX can dish out 181 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Similar to the Cannon Pilot and Elite, the LUX and SLUX also use a double-wishbone front suspension and a rear leaf-spring suspension.

For its transmission, the Haval H9 uses a nine-speed automatic with paddle shifters. It also gets a similar drivetrain as the Cannon 4x4 trims, but it takes it to the next level with a dedicated 4x4 "low" mode.
Ride quality for the GWM SUV is handled by front double wishbone and rear multi-link suspension systems.
