Infiniti’s Prototype 10 to make its debut

MANILA: It is that time again when some of the world’s finest classic automobiles gather at a golf course to be judged. The cars are from before and after the last war. However, at the Monterey car week’s major event, the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance, the automobile companies always bring something new to the show.

Although the event is for vintage cars, it doesn’t really stop manufacturers like Infiniti from coming to the show with special designs and concept cars to show to the world. This year, Nissan's premium automobile marque is coming to Pebble Beach with something beyond ordinary- the Infiniti Prototype 10.

The Infiniti Prototype 10 concept car is classic speedster re-imagined. What is even more crazier? Well, the car is in single-seater form. Infiniti says that with the car’s long and low-slung body, the concept is meant to arouse the past while peeping into the future of electrified performance.

Mr. Karim Habib, Infiniti's executive design director said, "The Infiniti Prototype 10 echoes the layout and design of some of the most evocative car designs of all time, where power was celebrated through high-powered single-seat competition cars. Our new concept speaks of an electrified future, something which is reflected in its form and details. It is appropriate that we found inspiration in an optimistic bygone era in which cars were characterized by the simple love of driving."

Concept cars don’t see the light of production mostly. This could be the fate of the Prototype 10 as well. However, Infiniti says that this concept is a glimpse of the company’s future designs. The company also says that the Infiniti Prototype 10 is an evolution of the Infiniti Q Inspiration. By 2021, all Infiniti cars will be electrified as has been reassured.

The concept Prototype isn’t really eligible for the competition at the Monterey car week but is sure going to turn heads and draw a huge crowd.
