Isuzu PH Brings 3.0-litre trims for Mu-X and D-MAX

MANILA: Isuzu PH has launched the more powerful and performing 3.0 liter diesel for its two best-selling vehicles, the Mu-X and D-MAX. Initially it offered 2.5 liter diesel mills but the larger engine delivers a 27 PS boost due to variable geometry system (VGS) turbo.

President of Isuzu Philippines Corporation, Hajime Koso, says,“While our current D-MAX and Mu-X line-up is very much appreciated by the market, there are those who wish to have more power. Thus, we are giving our customers the freedom to choose – between our current 2.5-liter engine and the new 3.0 VGS Turbo variant.”

The3.0 liter powerful engine in the lineup is available in the top trim models, usually known as the 4JJI-TC (Hi), it churns out a peak power output of 163 PS and 380 Nm of torque. The company claims that the engine has been designed for providing maximum efficiency and smooth power delivery. However, the D-MAX is mated with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission along with a manu-matic function whereas the Mu-X is equipped with the 3.0 VGS Turbo, mated with the 5-speed automatic with manu-matic function as well.

Apart from the powertrain upgradation, the 3.0-liter Mu-X LS gets daytime running lights along with fog lamps fixed within the bumper. It also offers skid plates to ensure underchassis protection. Both the D-MAX and Mu-X get a standard back up camera in order to make safer parking.

The Isuzu Mu-X 3.0 VGS Turbo offers six color choices such as : Splash White, Cosmic Black, Titanium Silver, Aqua Blue, Outback Brown and Silky Pearl White, while the Isuzu D-MAX 3.0 VGS Turbo offers a new color choice called Venetian Red along with the existing colors like Cosmic Black, Garnet Red, Titanium Silver and Splash White.
