Jeep to introduce 9 new models in next five years

MANILA:  Jeep, a division of FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), has revealed their five-year strategy that focuses on bringing in revised versions of the existing models along with a few all-new ones. The roadmap reveals that the brand will add 9 new models to its lineup in a time frame of five years. Also, Jeep being the marque brand in terms of sales and profits for FCA, the company plans to go all guns blazing. The company targets to produce a model for each segment that would also include a plug-in hybrid version of the model produced.

For A-segment, Jeep is planning to come up with a new crossover in the next five years. Once launched, it is expected to be placed below the Renegade. By 2022, there would be a plug-in hybrid version of the crossover too as per the strategy. The B-segment will see the all-new Renegade along with its plug-in hybrid and full-electric options by the end of the fifth year. Additionally, the company plans to bless the crossover with semi-autonomous driving capabilities.

In the C-segment, we are certain to see a refreshed Compass coming in the next few years. Although the year of launch is not known at the moment, it is certainly not very far. The brand, on the other side, has been lip-locked on the revised version of the Wrangler, which debuted earlier this year. The models in C-segment too will get hybrid and electric versions along with semi-autonomous capabilities.

By 2022, the D-segment will witness the arrival of an expansive range of models from Jeep. An all-new Cherokee and a ‘Low D 3-Row’ vehicle, whose name is not known as of now, are also on the cards.

Another addition to the future lineup will be the Jeep pickup whose name is unknown just like some of the aforementioned models. It is believed that the pickup will be based on the Wrangler platform, extended to suit the purpose. Last but not the least is the full-size SUV in the F-segment, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It will go up against the likes of the Range Rover, the Audi Q7 and the Porsche Cayenne.
