Kia’s newest SUV to be called Seltos

MANILA: About a fortnight ago, we covered a story on Kia’s upcoming small SUV. Since then, the automaker has been teasing the automobile universe with the SUV using sketches and whatnot! Something that was even a bigger pain was that no one actually knew the name of the SUV.

Even Kia itself kept calling the car “small global crossover” whenever they addressed their upcoming offering. Today, at last, we finally have the name of Kia’s newest SUV. And as you must have already got to know it from the title of the story, it is called Seltos. The SUV was caught in the flesh while it was posing for the shooting for a commercial in the US.

By the looks, it appears as the Kia Seltos will be slotted between the Soul and the Sportage. Staying true to its sketches, the Seltos features a design language identical to what we saw in the drawings. While the front end features uniquely designed headlamps and a pair of vertically stacked fog lamps, the rear end is also just like what we saw on the SP Signature concept featuring wrap around taillamps conjoined by thick chrome trim and stylish exhaust outlets.

As the exterior of Kia’s new SUV has followed what was shown in the sketches, we expect the interior to stay true to its sketch as well. All of an elegant dashboard, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system display, and digital controls for the air-conditioning system should be making their way to the Seltos once the car steps on the podium. We eagerly wait to have a much better look at the SUV, what about you?

With the Moscow Motor Show and the Frankfurt Motor Show being the next two major events in the automobile space, the Kia Seltos should be unveiled at one of the two events, both of which, are set to take place in September 2019.
