Lalamove partners with NCRPO to prevent criminal use of delivery platform
MANILA: Lalamove has recently signed a partnership with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to help eliminate the use of the online delivery platform for illegal transportation of smuggled products in the country. The memorandum was inked by both parties last February 23.
The partnership strengthens Lalamove’s commitment in helping the government to prevent criminal acts in modern-day technology. The company has also previously collaborated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to impede dangerous drug movement through its services.
NCRPO Regional Director Police Major General Vicente D. Danao, Jr. expressed his gratitude on its new partnership with Lalamove. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) seeks to ensure that all Lalamove partner drivers are not associated with any criminal activity. The NCRPO also offered to provide the riders with training in detection of illegal drugs and improvised explosive devices (IED).
Lalamove Regulatory and Strategy Head Atty. Joy Cañeba acknowledged NCRPO’s support in maintaining the safety and security of all their deliveries. Lalamove is the first delivery app in Metro Manila to establish a partnership with NCRPO. This partnership further guarantees that Lalamove provides safe and secured delivery services to all its users.
