Lexus PH dangles deals on select models to welcome Marvel's 'Eternals' flick

MANILA: Lexus Philippines marks the local release of Marvel Studios’ Eternals with special deals on its models.

The local Lexus distributor will offer customers special deals on the IS, UX, and LM at a display at the Greenbelt 5 Walkway, starting today until November 28, 2021. 

Marvel Studios' Eternals centers on an exciting new team of superheroes who have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of hiding to battle the Deviants.

To mark the film release, Lexus partners with Marvel Studios to produce a unique short film called Parking Spot, starring Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo. In Parking Spot, Kingo has to find a safe parking spot for his Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance before he can join a battle downtown. 

Lexus touts the IS 500 Performance to be the most powerful IS ever, with a 472hp naturally-aspirated V8 engine.

To complement this short film, Lexus made a fleet of 10 Eternals-inspired vehicles. 

As for the vehicles that will be displayed, the IS sedan was developed at the Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama Test Track. The IS F Sport variant boasts of a 300hp non-turbo V6 engine that delivers 380Nm, which is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, the IS 300h is powered by a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder hybrid powerplant mated to a Lexus E-CVT intelligent transmission for optimum efficiency during every driving condition.

The UX crossover promises agility and smoothness for urban driving, and boasts of a high-strength GA-C global architecture platform.

Using aluminum for the side doors, fenders and hood, and composite materials for the tailgate helps give the UX a low center of gravity.

As a result, it delivers a secure, agile feeling normally associated with lower-set hatches. A ring structure around the hatch opening and behind the rear seats increases torsional rigidity to enhance crash performance, improve handling and reduce noise and vibration.

The LM minivan can be specified in either four- or seven-seat configurations. Both are luxuriously appointed with expertly stitched leather trim and a distinctive new gin-sui-boku (silver ink) ornamentation inspired by the Japanese art of ink wash painting.

Widespread use of acoustic glass insulates the interior from the outside world, while the glass that forms part of the rear partition is adjustable in opacity in order to regulate the levels of privacy.

However, of the two LM variants, the opulent nature of the four-seat version is designed to best suit the needs of chauffeured professionals, positioning two luxurious seats in the vehicle’s private rear lounge, Lexus Philippines says.

Everything about the LM seats, from their couch-like cushions to the reclining angle and position relative to the window line, were carefully optimized to create the most soothing environment, the company adds.
