MIAS 2023: Peugeot E-2008 fronts brand’s event showcase

MANILA: Peugeot Philippines unveiled the 2023 Peugeot E-2008 at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2023. The electrified crossover gave “Filipinos a glimpse into the Lion brand’s upcoming electrification initiative,” the company boasted in a release.

“The Peugeot E-2008 taking center stage at our MIAS display is intended to give our customers a preview of the future with Peugeot. It is a symbol of our goal to give as many people as possible access to electrified mobility,” Peugeot Philippines Brand Head Maricar Parco stated.

Starting 2023, all Peugeot models will be available with electrified powertrains and full-electric ones by 2030 in Europe, the carmaker announced previously.

Peugeot E-2008

The E-2008 can travel up to an estimated range of up to 214 miles (344km) and is powered by a 50kWh battery and 100kW electric motor. With support for 100kW quick charging, a charge from zero to 80 percent may be finished in under 30 minutes, as per specifications in its home market.

Also attending MIAS 2023, Daniel Gonzalez, COO for ASEAN & General Distributors, Stellantis, said: “Our goal is to provide more sustainable mobility options for our customers and exceed their expectations, a key element of the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan.

“We aim to become an industry leader in the fight against climate change, achieve net zero carbon emissions globally by 2038 and introduce more than 75 BEVs by 2030. To achieve this, we have a substantial electrified product line-up coming soon.”

Active and Allure Variants of Peugeot 3008 and 5008

Peugeot Philippines showcased the Active and Allure variants of the 3008 and 5008 SUVs at MIAS 2023.

3008 and 5008 models with the Allure designation correspond to the top-of-the-line models, and these come equipped with full LED lighting, 10-inch infotainment screen, wireless charging pads, sunroof, and lane keep assist, among other features.

As for the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 Active variants, they deliver “the same performance from the 1.6-liter Twin Scroll Turbo High Pressure (THP) engine as Allure, but with varying design elements and amenities at a more accessible price point,” the carmaker explained. These particular models are recognizable by their eight-inch infotainment screen and fabric seats. 

Peugeot 3008, 5008 Active Prices

The Peugeot 3008 Active is priced at P2,090,000 and the 5008 Active at P2,275,000.

The Allure and Active variants are on display at MIAS 2023. Test drives of the 2008, 3008, and 5008 SUVs are also available for customers at the auto show.

Peugeot Philippines’ Dealerships and Service Centers

In the second quarter of this year, Peugeot Philippines intends to open five new dealer locations in Bulacan, Makati, Manila Bay, Pasig, and Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The company has plans for further network expansions and is on track to end 2023 with 18 operational showrooms and service centers nationwide.

As the company wants to improve service reliability and parts availability in all its service centers, Peugeot parent company Stellantis has accredited Eurorepar Car Service as its supplier for maintenance parts beginning the first quarter of this year.

“With Eurorepar’s proven reliability and full range of replacement parts, Peugeot owners with out-of-warranty vehicles now have an option for more reasonably priced parts and can continue to enjoy (brand’s) service at authorized service centers,” the carmaker stated in a release.
