Nissan joins hybrid truck race with all-new Frontier Pro PHEV unveiling at Auto Shanghai 2025

MANILA: Nissan Motor Company Limited launched the all-new Frontier Pro at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai). 

The all-new Nissan Frontier Pro is the Japanese carmaker’s first-ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and its first-ever electrified pickup truck. 

It showcases the marque’s decades-long pickup truck legacy and learnings with the latest powertrain technology from the world’s leading new-energy vehicle market, China.

Below are its notable features: 

• Illuminated Nissan logo at the fore
• Five-part LED headlamp setup 
• 18-inch alloy wheels with 265/65R18 tires
• Beefy front bumper 
• Squarish side mirrors 

Inside, here are some of the features that look to attract car buyers: 

• 10-inch LCD instrument panel
• 14.6-inch infotainment screen
• D-shaped multi-functional steering wheel 
• Leather interior appointments 

Here are some details about its all-electric powertrain system: 

• 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine 
• Transmission-mounted, high-output electric motor 
• 402 horsepower 
• 800 Newton-meters of torque 
• 135-kilometer all-electric range 

Per Nissan, the all-new Frontier Pro HEV will go on sale in China later this year and will soon be sold overseas.
