NLEX Corp. conducts latest round of ‘See Clearly, Drive Safely’ program

MANILA: The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation, together with the “Nagkakaisang Samahan ng Panlalawigang Bus ng Pilipinas Incorporated” (NSNPBPI), recently held the long-running “See Clearly, Drive Safely” program.

A total of 71 drivers were accommodated by the “See Clearly, Drive Safely” program.
  • Which corporation is the organizer of the “See Clearly, Drive Safely” program?

The “See Clearly, Drive Safely” program is organized by the NLEX Corporation.
  • For the unaware, the said program offers free eye-check-ups, visual accuracy examinations, and refraction tests conducted by licensed optometrists. For drivers who needed them, free prescription and reading eyeglasses were also provided to participating drivers.

The said program is also a part of the NLEX Mission Road Safety campaign, which includes the BiyaHero 2024 Caravan, Usapang Driver Program (Driver Talks Program), Dayberks Drive Road Safety Seminars, and many other initiatives.

In total, the 2025 edition of the See Clearly, Drive Safely program saw a total of 71 drivers. The aforementioned come from major provincial transport lines such as Baliwag Transit Incorporated, Golden Bee Transport, Genesis Transport Service Inc., Saulog Transit Inc., Victory Liner Inc., Bataan Transit Co. Inc., Luzon Cisco Transport Inc., Pangasinan Five Star Bus Company Inc., and Metrolink Bus Corporation.

“Clear vision is the first step toward safe driving. Our ‘See Clearly, Drive Safely’ program is more than just eyescreening; it’s a direct investment in the health of our stakeholders and, ultimately, the safety and reliability of every commuter,” President and General Manager of NLEX Corporation Luis Reñon said.

“Kapag malinaw ang mata, malayo sa disgrasya,” (If the eyes are clear, one is far from danger) Reñon added.

    Other NLEX Corp. initiatives

Back in October 2025, NLEX Corp. rolled out a lineup of safety upgrades for the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway. The aforementioned is valued at P200 million, and it includes closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs), speed cameras, and modernized monitoring and computer systems.

Last year, the company deployed additional new energy vehicles (NEV) to its fleet - a move that is seen to aid in cutting down the carbon footprint of its operations. Specifically, the company brought in a fleet of Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and Nissan Kicks e-Power units.

As mentioned above, NLEX Corp. also continued to conduct the BiyaHero Road Safety Caravan, which is said to provide a boost in road safety awareness for transport group leaders, drivers, and mechanics.
