MANILA: Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines has officially opened its latest dealerships in Davao City and Cebu City. Both are owned and operated in partnership with MG Gateway South Corporation, expanding the sister brands’ reach in Visayas and Mindanao.

Omoda & Jaecoo in PH: latest launch
The latest model from the sister brands is the J5 battery electric vehicle (BEV) - a compact crossover with a starting price of P1.399 million for the sole available Max variant.
Under the hood, the Jaecoo J5 EV is powered by a single permanent magnet synchronous motor, which draws energy from a 58.9-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. This setup delivers a maximum output of 207 horsepower and 288 Newton-meters of torque. According to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), the J5 EV can travel up to 461 km on a full charge.
Based on its output figures listed above, the said model is capable of sprinting from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 7.7 seconds.
For charging, the J5 EV comes with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) charging ports. Using the latter’s fast-charging capability, the electric crossover can replenish its battery from 30 to 80 percent in 28 minutes.
The J5 EV also features several electrification-focused technologies, including a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function and a regenerative braking system.
Notably, the Jaecoo J5 EV is a front-wheel-drive model equipped with MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both the front and rear axles.
