One-Year-Old Lexus RC Coupe Now Available in Four Power Options

MANILA: Yes, you read it right. The new Lexus RC Coupe is entering into its second year and as a goodwill gesture, the company has powered its coupe with two new power choices. So, now in total we have four engine options to opt from, with the initial ones being a 5.0-litre V8 engine in RC F with 467 hp and 527 Nm, accompanied by a RC 350 that is powered by a 3.5-litre power mill generating 306 hp of maximum power and 376 Nm of peak torque. The rest two are new and below, you will get a detailed description of the same.

2016 RC 200t Turbo

The first on the list is a 2.0-litre turbo engine that was initially introduced in NX crossover. The RC 200t will deliver 241 hp of maximum power, with a torque that will make your mind spin, 350 Nm from a very low 1,650 rpm. The RC 200t will be only available in a rear-wheel option, helping in keeping its weight down and giving it a better fuel economy. As for the fuel economy, it will offer a combined mileage of 26 MPG, significantly higher than RC 350's 22 MPG. The speed side will bear some downfall and it won't be as fast as the 350.

In addition, the new engine will be coupled with the Lexus 8-speed automatic transmission, offering an excellent real-life drivability.

2016 RC 300 AWD

Next up is RC 300 AWD that is being said to be an 'all-weather RC'. Underneath it will be using a de-tuned 3.5-litre V6 coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine will be efficient enough to offer 255 hp of maximum power and 319 Nm of peak torque and will be available in all-wheel drive.

Technical Up-gradation

The 2016 RC will come equipped with Lexus Enform Service Connect telematics service. This new feature enables the drivers to view things like maintenance schedule, warning light notifications, and vehicle heat report using an app (iOS only). It can also send maintenance related e-mails and push notification.
