Lexus PH Debuts Carbon Package of RC-F Coupe

MANILA: Lexus Manila Inc., the official distributor of Lexus cars in Philippines has launched the higher variant of RC-F, known as RC-F Carbon Package, the highlights of which are carbon fiber hood, roof and rear spoiler.

According to Lexus, the use of carbon fiber has made it light weight which resulted into super agility and improved handling. The hood and roof are formed by four 0.5 mm thick carbon fiber sheets which are pressed together to form a rigid, tight-weight panel. As for the rear spoiler, it is made up of composites of carbon and fiberglass within the weaves. The amount of carbon weaves used for the RC-F range varies from 3000 to 24000 weaves depending on the strength required for the panel.

The RC-F Carbon Package also comes with lower center of gravity which helps in better car grip, especially during cornering, and making it resistant to sideway G-forces. Lexus also says that at 80 km/h, the pop-up spoiler further adds to down force which ultimately results into improved handling.

The powertrain of RC-F remains untouched where it still features 5.0-litre V8 that propels 477 PS and 530 Nm of torque when mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Other striking feature is the new torque-vectoring rear differential which helps the car to carry more speed all throughout. The prices of RC-F Carbon Package starts at PhP 6,658,000 while the standard RC-F Coupe comes with initial price tag of PhP 5,868,000.
