Pangilinan-led expressways to waive toll fees for holidays

MANILA: Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) will be waiving toll fees on its expressways during select hours over the upcoming holidays.

In an announcement, the Pangilinan-led toll operator shared that the toll-free initiative will be conducted at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, NLEX Connector, Manila-Cavite Expressway, and Cavite-Laguna Expressway on the following dates and hours:

• December 24, 10 p.m. until December 25, 6 a.m.
• December 31, 10 p.m. up to January 1, 6 a.m.

The company noted that standard toll fees will apply outside of the aforementioned hours. In addition, motorists are encouraged to have their electronic-control tags examined at the nearest Easytrip service center before entering the expressways. Customers who still pay cash are also urged to switch to RFID for “greater convenience and efficiency.”

“Family time is priceless, especially during the holidays. Offering toll-free access is our humble gift to families who wish to maximize their time together,” MPTC Chair and Chief Executive Officer Manuel Pangilinan said.
