Petron warns public of scammers at service stations

MANILA: Petron is warning the public of an alleged scam that happened recently at their service stations.

Based on the advisory posted on its social media page, the fuel company shared that a group of individuals are attempting to solicit money from customers at their stations.

“These individuals were reportedly seen approaching motorists and requesting assistance, claiming that their card payment had been declined,” Petron shared in the post.

“Please be advised that this is a scam. We have already reported the matter to the proper authorities and urge everyone to stay vigilant,” it added.

Further, Petron is urging the public to inform them of any dubious activities happening in their service facilities.

Last August, the homegrown oil firm also cautioned the public about a phishing scam sent via text messages. On the said activity, scammers are asking Petron Value Card holders for their credit card details to supposedly redeem points or claim rewards.
