In a statement, SMC shared that tollway personnel have been deployed across its expressways to assist emergency convoys and to ensure their safe and uninterrupted use of tollways.
Photo from SMC InfraPrior to the typhoon’s landfall, the company’s maintenance crews have been deployed to check drainage systems, secure roadside signages and billboards, and preposition quick-response teams and heavy equipment in flood-prone areas to keep expressways passable.
It can be recalled that during the COVID-19 pandemic, SMC waived more than P230 million worth of toll fees for frontliners in all its expressways.
